Puzzeling

This work, as well as its process, encompasses the nature of my faith. The exploration of this seemingly ethereal subject, lead to the puzzling of a previously coherent image. Each part rendered tangible, beautiful and certain; yet unconnected. The arrangement of these segments, in order to achieve an articulate whole, is therefore unsure. This is indicative of the solid fractions of truth known; and further portrays an inadequacy to piece these fragments together to form a single understanding.

The Mystery of faith is reiterated through the image of the final product: unclear, yet strangely powerful; eliciting a desire and hope to solve the puzzle and discover the ‘whole greater that it’s parts’. This echoes the Apostle Paul’s words: ‘for we know in part, and we prophesy in part... For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.’
